Using dxo photolab with lightroom8/9/2023 ![]() ![]() DxO has also re-engineered the program’s color processing algorithms to provide a new enhanced extended color space.Ī new ReTouch tool is available in PhotoLab 6 for healing and cloning. This gives you the ability to monitor how the image will look on a specific display or printed output. The ability to soft proof images is also new in PhotoLab 6. The original DeepPRIME from version 5 remains. I also found it very effective at removing noise from high ISO images captured by my earlier Nikons. The updated version uses machine learning to provide greater noise reduction with improved detail enhancement and color for images captured at the ever-higher ISO speeds available on the latest cameras. DXO PhotoLab 6 updates DeepPRIME with DeepPRIME XD (eXtreme Detail). Version 5 of PhotoLab introduced DeepPRIME noise reduction. The new DeepPRIME XD tool is displayed along with the other noise reduction tools in the right panel. I also looked at ViewPoint 4 as a standalone. I tested the ELITE version of DxO PhotoLab 6 on Mac and Windows with Viewpoint 4 available as a panel in the program. Upgrade pricing is available for previous users of both programs. New users on Mac or Windows will pay $99. ![]() ViewPoint 4 is available as a separate program that at you can use as a panel in DxO PhotoLab, as a standalone program, or as a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Photoshop Elements. Version 4 increases these abilities by addressing control over local image areas and support for Apple Silicon hardware. I worked with the ELITE version.ĭxO Viewpoint became part of the DxO family several years ago, providing the ability to globally fix geometry and perspective. Both are available for Mac and Windows platforms. The ESSENTIALS edition allows installation on two computers for $139 while the ELITE edition, with additional features, allows installation on three systems for $219. Five years later, DxO PhotoLab 6 builds on the ever-increasing feature set of previous versions with new and enhanced AI technology that improves image quality and the user experience in areas crucial to professional photographers. That program joined the growing number of photo imaging softwares that add extended capabilities to a raw file processing program at a lower cost and without the need for a subscription. The start of the problem didn't coincide with my moving to LR Classic.Įdit, the green progress bar is across the Photolab icon. When DxO Optics Lab folded the Nik Collection into DxO Optics Pro in 2017, the software was renamed to DxO PhotoLab. ![]() The "export to DXO>export back to LR" process did originally work successfully, in LR 6.14. One solution from the DXO Forum was that my Windows folder properties are set to "read only" but I can't change that. I have twice had a Windows error message at the point of failure. ![]() I've tried DXO Tech Support but I think they have given up on it. I have downloaded a trial copy of the latter and that doesn't work either! In most cases I get a black image with a pattern of coloured dots throughout. I'm basically using Photolab as if it were DXO PureRAW. Sometimes it will successfully export the file to LR but the file is corrupted, having a rectangular section of the image covered in a pattern of coloured parallel horizontal lines. I can watch the green progress bar cross the **Lightroom*** (see edit below) icon at the bottom of my screen, and it usually gets about half way across before turning red and giving up. Sometimes it works, but mostly it doesn't. I use Photolab as a plug-in extra, export to Photolab and then immediately export back to Lightroom. I have Photolab set to pre-process my files. This may be a Photolab problem or possibly even a Windows problem but this is it. ![]()
